Tape for pipe insulation Discussion Thread
Does anyone have recommendations for tape to seal the seams in foam pipe insulation? Most tape seems to get brittle over time and lose its stickiness and lets go.
Also does anyone know of a foam pipe wrap? There are a lot of spots around pipe clamps...
I'm in the process of doing a small job using Hardie backer board for the walls. I've tried to use Hardie's own brand of joint tape, but I'm finding that the tape has very little adhesion and is almost coming off the wall at the slightest touch, particularly in the corner joints.
I'm a bit...

When applying jacko joint sealing tape with the tanking solution does the tape need to be fitted in a certain direction?
On one side of the tape, the rubber strip that...

Hi all. I'm doing up a bathroom as a DIY project. Going to tile all the walls, including shower enclosure all the way up to ceiling. Is it necessary to tape all of the plasterboard joints prior to tiling? Was looking at the tape itself from Mapei and comes up around £5 per metre which seems...
I am using Marmox Multiboard on a bathroom floor adjacent to a wet room and rather than using Marmox Self-Adhesive Waterproof tape wonder if there is any reason why I shouldn’t use the Aquapanel equivalent?
It is half the price. Thank you.
Hi. Hope everyone is well.
I am after some advice after a tiler started my bathroom yesterday. I told him twice about the aquapanel joint tape and after getting home from work, I noticed he hasn't used it!!
How important is this?
My instinct is to have the tiles off and him start again
Hi all. I have 40sqm of floor to pour slc over. Half is concrete and half is 25mm plywood over new solid joists. Where they meet at the join...it is pretty near level but concrete does dip by about 8mm at one area. I am using Mapei Ultraplan as it is fibre reinforced and was also recommended to...
Greetings. I am putting in 2 showers with Durock brand cement board with Edgeguard. The instructions say to "fill joints with latex-modified mortar". I also have a Durock brand shower valve seal, where the instructional video says to use "unmodified thinset mortar" to attach it to the wall...
So here it is...... a tape measure! Hard to get excited about I know, but bare with me......
This FISCO metric only big tape is a class I tape measure, meaning it is the highest, most accurate class of tape measure around. It is in some circumstances twice as accurate as some of the tape...
It seems that every day is a school day. Marc ( @3_fall ) and a few of us were discussing tape measures today (yes we really do find these things interesting! :D).
It seems that your trusty old tape measure may not be as trusty as you thought!!!
It’s something most tilers take for granted...

Anyone know a tape that doesn't have a little movement in the end metal tab, I always find if you hook it on and measure, it gives a different reading to if you measure from the end!
