the tile association
The Tile Association for the whole tile industry in the UK
The Tile Association was started some time ago. It was two associations joining forces, a retailers one and a Tile fixers one, if I remember it correctly.
There are benefits of being a wall and floor tile fixer who has joined TTA such as an internal newsletter, access to British Standards, back-up from them when products fail and you need a report saying so, and you get listed on their website which has good feels for your own website (Google likes quality links), and actual humans who search for a tiler know they get a quality one from The Tile Association website unlike with check my builder type websites that don't know tiling so can't vet people who claim to be one.
There are lots of other benefits too. Checkout their website Tiles.org.uk.
Just having a look at their web site, some of the benefits seem to cover the annual fees so, seems quite worthwhile. My question is, for those that are members, how much do you pay annually and do you pay it annually or monthly?
I have resently added a new extention to the back of my property and in doing so taken out most of the original back wall. The original part of the property has a suspended timber floor. I replaced some of the joists and added some blocks for support as well as some noggins. I then screwed the...

We have just moved into a house which has a wetroom installed as the bathroom is in the old coal storage location e.g. a small room with a low ceiling height. It contains a shower, toilet and sink but we really need somewhere to put our toiletries that are not on the floor.
The walls are...

"Ok then," said Bob, and he proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the smallest male part the nurse had ever seen. In length and width it was the same size as a AAA battery...

Could anyone recommend the correct sand/cement mix for putting terracotta tiles outside? The tiles are 15mm deep and I need it to be 15-20mm thick to bring them up to the surrounding level. Also is boiled linseed an appropriate sealer for outside use? Thanks.

I have some lovely reclaimed terracotta tiles to lay in a porch (see pic). They are to go down on a flat concrete base and will come up to the level of the bricks. The gap between the base and the top of the bricks is about 20mm and the tiles are about 10mm thick but varies as they are hand...
