the tile association

The Tile Association for the whole tile industry in the UK
The Tile Association was started some time ago. It was two associations joining forces, a retailers one and a Tile fixers one, if I remember it correctly.

We feed their news to the forum here: https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tiling-news-tile-news.345/

There are benefits of being a wall and floor tile fixer who has joined TTA such as an internal newsletter, access to British Standards, back-up from them when products fail and you need a report saying so, and you get listed on their website which has good feels for your own website (Google likes quality links), and actual humans who search for a tiler know they get a quality one from The Tile Association website unlike with check my builder type websites that don't know tiling so can't vet people who claim to be one.

There are lots of other benefits too. Checkout their website Tiles.org.uk.

The marriage of an 80 year old man and a 20 year old woman was the talk of the town. After being married a year, the couple went to the hospital for the birth of their first child. The attending nurse came out of the delivery room to congratulate the old gentleman and said, 'This is...

    Help needed with terracotta floor!

I have a Fired Earth terracotta floor. I had it laid and properly sealed with linseed oil etc and then waxed & buffed to a sheen. However, I have 3 large dogs so I have to mop the floor every other day, but the normal tile products that won't remove the wax aren't strong enough to take off the...

    TTA Membership

There are lots of schemes out there most of them not worth the paper they are written on but just a few are like the Federation of Master Builders and to me (as a multi-trader) the TTA seems like it would be worth it. So how many of you are members? If you are, why? If not, why not...

Hi. I have an old (approx 300yrs) house with a part concrete, part old lime "crete" floor (ie concrete in the bits where the old lime had presumably broken away) in the sitting room. No DPC. Terracotta Repair

Did a repair job this week, just a couple of tiles to replace. What surprised me was how the edges of the tiles (unsealed but top surface was sealed) sucked the moisture out of the grout. (mapei ultra colour) saw surface cracks appear straight away. Just told told the customer I would check on...
