Hi - This is my first post so i should start by saying thanks for all the info i have got from this site in the past years.
I have bought electric UFH mats along with 6mm insulation boards.
I am looking to tile my 4m bathroom floor which has t&g wooden floor. I will screw this down but looking...
We are going to lay limestone, 15mm in the kitchen 40m2 on a concrete floor. What is the best way to do UFH?
Initially we looked at using warmup sticky matts with 10mm insulation boards and then flex adhesive for the tiles . In reading this forum i understand there is still a risk of cracked...
Hi all, I have a 200 sqr mtr floor to fix thin porcelain 6mm x 1 mtr x 1 mtr on under floor heated screed. I'm sure I need to use a decoupling mat, any suggestions on which one would be best to use. I would like to use the lightweight highly deformable adhesive from Mapie and levelling clips. I...

Advice please chaps - i’m a bit new to all this! I’ve been to a house today where they have had a very poor tiling job done where tiles have come loose, floors not levelled, loads of lipping etc etc. The builder has done a runner and left them in the sh*t!
One thing I saw which I haven’t before...

Hi, I'm looking for some next steps advice on a complex situation. I'll try to include any info that I think might be relevant. The irrelevant backstory is at the end for those who are curious.
So tonight I stepped on a tile in front of the kitchen sink and water seeped up around the grout...

Found this random tile which I thought was cool.
Our garden has an Anderson shelter or possibly bunker in it from the war! We need to move some rubble to investigate it.
Least we will be ok with north Korea lol.
We are having our kitchen redone due to problems with our suspended flooring.
As a result we have put a concrete floor down.
We have just had our tiler start on the job - laying 40m2 of porcelain tiles (60*60)
We have just inspected some of the tiles that were laid and have noticed that a...
hi was wondering if anyone knew of a decent laser level that isn't to pricey. My dewalt one has recently packed in and don't want to be spending over £100 on one again.

Hi,
Your advice please.
I wish to tile part way under a bath so the side/end panels will be in contact with these tiles.
Its a P shaped bath.
The tiles are 9mm, what distance should I allow for with the adhesive and tile so the panels just touches the tiles.
Thanks
Bob
has anyone used it? At the moment there are a few brands competing in this market of uncoupling / underfloor heating combo's, but this ditra duo claims to have a special thermal fleece backing that insulates and pushes 80% of the heat upwards. I'd be interested to know how that compares to an...
Alright chaps,
Had a call about a job which I have to quote,
Not got the full info until tonight but what I have is, 35 sq m, multi room, quartz. Also there's ufh wants fitting first, they apparently have all the materials supplied by tile giant. I'm getting more info tonight. New build onto...
Hi Guys,
I need help!! Basically I employed a cowboy and now there is a problem I can't contact him!
I had my floor tiled (over 200sqm) prior to turning the under floor heating on. Now the heating has been on and off for over a month the tiles sound hollow when I walk over them! I feel they...
I know this product is unlikely to turn up in the UK anytime soon, but wanted other tilers take on it.
I was offered adhesive to buy (C1TES1) and it was almost half the price of Mapei equivalent.
I read the datasheets and found some fairly poor spelling and the incorrect use of < & > signs...
Hi Guys, in my current bathroom job its been a late decision to have an electric underfloor heating mat.
Its 18mm chipboard well screwed down and I've bought, cut and laid 6mm Hardiebacker but not fixed or glued it yet.
Shall i do away with the Hardie and just screw and glue 6mm insulation...
Hi Fella's
Just across from the Plumbers Forum to see what's going on.
Our forum is being upgraded - as you probably know - and we have been forced upon you.
You know how the saying goes.

Bought one of these for testing under floor heating, you can leave it connected whilst installing and if any problems will sound an audible alarm, and nice and quick to test before, during and after installation and screed. ;)
I have a job to do in this lovely house... under tile heating in all bathrooms and en-suites. Thing is though in the two main bedrooms he doesn't want to see a radiator on the walls so asked if I could continue the under floor heating under his carpet.
the flooring at the moment is wayrock...
