Hi All,
Please can you advise what former I require for a wetroom area of 1450 x 1100?
Looking through this forum, I know the impey former is not highly regarded. However, Wedi seems to be. Is it possible to cut the Wedi primo 1500x1500 tray down to my size?
The former will be fitted on to...
Just pricing up my own ensuite. The quote includes a 'tile safe' tanking kit - £300 and flexi wall membrane 8kg - £60
I don't mind the cost if it's worth it, but just want to check with those in the know if this stuff is good & worth the £360? Are there any brands you would recommend? Or am I...
Hi, I would appreciate any thoughts on a few diverse questions on a singly storey barn project we are doing.
- I haven't used anhydrite liquid screed before. I understand it needs roughing up 5 days or so after laying to help it dry and for adhesives to work. I will check with manufacturers re...
What do you guys think of this?
INSTALLATION GUIDE: Impey WaterGuard - https://phpionline.co.uk/installation-guides/installation-guide-impey-waterguard/
Hi guys.
So, I've been asked to do a bathroom for a customer but I'm not sure the best way to go about it.
It's an ensuite in an old georgian house, 1st floor. I went to see the job a few weeks ago but could actually get into the room as it was full of building materials (they're renovating...
Evening folks
I am about to tile a bathroom floor inc, Impey wetroom tray & UFH.
The work up until now has been carried out by someone else and this is where its at.
The floor at present is standard chipboard with the tray being approx 2-3mm proud. I need to run the loose lay cable UFH and...
Hello.
We would like someone to install a wetroom in Nottingham. Ideally someone experienced.
Marble. 30m2+
UFH
Concealed Grohe toilet
Digital shower Grohe
Please let me know if you are interested. We are ready to go.
I have tried the Nottinghamshire directory without luck.
Thank you.
The wetroom I am about to start building has a floor area 900 x 1850. The former is a GRP 900 x 1400 x 22 so I need to fill the 450 x 900 space at the end of the former. I considered putting a 9mm ply base down with 12.5mm backer board over the top which will bring the level up to within...
Hi all. I have just had my first attempt to cut the tiles for my raised wetroom floor. They are approx 600x300 porcelain tiles. I have a standard score and snap tile cutter and a cheap electric wet circular cutter from screwfix.
I have done an 'ok' job and one that I'd probably be ok with...
I recently had a downstairs bedroom extension with en-suite built for my elderly parents as they are no longer mobile enough to climb stairs. I wanted to make it as nice and accessible for them as I could as they will likely see out the rest of there days there:
There is a problem with the...

When tanking a marine ply floor with a paint-on tanking product, should these type of waterproof pipe collars be used, or is the tanking enough? If used, would they go on before or after tanking product is applied?
Pipes would be going through the floor from bath, basin, radiator, toilet supply...

Hi
Got a wetroom floor to do with AKA Tuff former using 300x600 tiles.
I obviously need to cut the diagonals to suit former slope down to drain.
How do you guys prepare the cut edges so as not sharp? On the diagonals and where horizontal tiles butt ones sloping to drain
Hi All
just registered my interest to attend this wet room course next year, looking forward to it, hope its worthwhile, thought I'd put it up for others that might want to go on one, only £15.

Is it correct that paint-on tanking products for a floor require more than one coat, with subsequent drying time between coats?
If that's the case, would I be correct in thinking that a waterproof matting product adhered to the floor timber before tiling is quicker to put in place?
Thanks.

Can I tile straight onto sand and cement render (with an spr coat) in a shower area? Or does it need tanking?
Am i correct in thinking its better without a finish coat?
Thanks

have done plenty of UFH electric mats under tiles, & plenty wetrooms with tanking.
However, I have never incorporated both..
Is tanking done under or over electric mat?
Is it ok to bring UFH mat onto shower former?
Cheers!

Hi
We have a shower mounted above a bath. If the shower head is accidentally knocked so the spray is directed onto the tiles rather than into the bath, water penetrates behind the cracked grout and/or silicon seal. If the shower runs for some time water will run behind the tiles and drips from...
Above is a job I went too a month ago. The contractor said we’ve tanked the walls for you! I told him I wouldn’t tile the slope as it was and with 900x300mm tiles. Why he asked!
I used my thumbnail to pick a bit off then proceeded to peel it like an orange - that’s why!
So my question.
If the...

I was just wondering which of the many options you would use when putting up new board on the wall which runs the length of a bath with an overhead shower above the bath?
That is, a wall currently with nothing attached to the stud.
Options appear to be putting up ordinary plasterboard, or...
Hi All, I was after some advice please?
I have had a Tradewetrooms Tough-x wetroom proforma fitted and porcelain tiles fitted over. After using the shower the first time, I was left with a puddle on one side of the drain and it stays there permanently.
I called back the bathroom fitter, who fit...
