300m2 indian restaurant

this job has come in this evening via a tiler pal of mine,

indian restaurant 240 m2 floor tiling and 60 m2 on walls dealing direct with the owners

i dont want this to be took the wrong , but i have reservations about this job as a few pals of mine have has some bad experiences money wise trying to get there money,

thats what i thought a deposit up front and maybe a large payment once its tiled then the rest when its grouted

Tell them you want a deposit and money as you go and if you dont get the money then you wont do the next stage

I take a 40% deposit 1 week prior to start date and balance on completion, this applies to all jobs.

As with any large job, you should have staged payments identified within your terms of business.

As a point of interest, I did a job in a new commercial unit and it was direct with the Indian business owners a couple of years ago. There were no issues with workmanship and payment was bang on time. Just remember, it doesn't matter what make, colour or flavour there are good and bad of each.
