A price for 150m2 of Limestone

Hi chaps,need a bit of help on this price please as it is by far the biggest iv'e had to price
150m2 of 22mm thick limestone,covering 7 rooms(large format riven,the small sample just looked like slate)
Going down onto concrete with ufh (concrete slab all one piece,no day/expansion joints)
Labour only

Can't tell you anything more really, other than it looked very slate like(not having used limestone before).Did get the feeling that i was wasting my time turning up.

My advice, agree a day rate, big floors like this always throw up unexpected delays that aren't your fault so if your client is paying you by the day they will be more inclined to sort any issues out speedily.

Not at the time,but did have to educate them on the need for expansion gaps at the doors.Thought might get away without the need for it.4 of the rooms are 5m by 5m

Ok, it is a very hard limestone and format size is probs to be 800 ish by 400 ish just depends on the suppliers, some are 900's. lol

Anyway... like i said very hard material and quite coarse in texture, a coat of sealer will help with grout.. they have ribbed backs and are quite well regulated in thickness, so no packing up etc...

Hi Dave,I have been laying something similar to these today(840mm x540mm) but the sealer supplied is giving no added colour so looks very cold,what sealer did you use on these?

The customer was/is unsure of what they want from the sealer.The sealer supplied by the tile shop is invisible when dry,but leaves it looking very bleak,so was just wanting to check out what the above sealer was.But i also hate seeing stones that are glossy/shiny or over enhanced

I think it'd be a good idea to do some samples so customer can compare what finish they'd like.

Id be charging 30ish per m2. Would want expansio/control joints. Decoupler a must. Have been using universeals spray sealers lately, what a time saver! Option of colour enhancing with there products. Would be pricing not dayrate imo.
