Hey peeps
I am about to start tiling a wet room with two different colour tiles one white ,the other chocolate. The white tile is the predominant colour with the chocolate being two tiles wide from floor to cieling giving a stripe effect (both tile types 200*300 in dimension).
The chocolate tiles are to be grouted with a dark grout and white obviously with white.
As this is the first time I`ve attempted to grout with two dis-similar colour grouts ,I`m just looking for some advice on how I would go about grouting with these two colours, without the grouts staining its nieghbour colour. I have a fairly good idea ,but just looking to see if you more experienced tilers have any better ideas.

Tile Pattern C= chocolate w = white

I would never have said that this was obvious.

I have never heard of doing different coloured grout on the same wall, or even same room really.

Have fun

you could go down the aquamix route and do all in the lighter colour then grout colour the choc ones not sure what colours they do mapei also do grout pens

Not sure how you would stop the bleed of colour without a barrier of some kind unless you waited for one to cure properly and then do the other, still might bleed though, why not do the lot in white, a nice contrast against the chocolate tile. As has been said, never seen it done, never done nor do I think ever will do 2 colours in the same room.

I have done this on a few occasions. Grout the lot in white then recolour the chocolate with Aqua Mix grout Colourant Jobs a good un:hurray::hurray::hurray:

Using the aqua mix grout colourant will leave the grout texture totally different to the white..Isn't grout colourant epoxy based.?

Do the chocolate first and leave to dry...as this is the muckiest grout...use ultra colour plus..dries very fast and is rock hard in 3 hrs...then mask the chocolate joints off and carefully do the white joints...the use of a grout bag will aid in the ease of doing this..

Good luck and pics would be good.

have done this with black and white. mask off and grout the darker colour first. once dry mask the dark colour and grout the white. a right pain but if thats what the customer wants, you do it

Wow, I'd have not bothered with this one personally; or I'd have charged very well for it. Hats off to you all that have managed to do it with Aquamix stuff or any other way.

Please please get some pictures of it online once you've done it. I'm sure this would be a possible winner of a Job Of The Month Competition.
