Advice needed please, adhesives

This is my first post so hello everyone. I am not a tiler and would like some advice on what adhesive would be best for my bathroom. I am using 8mm ceramic tiles 300x450 onto new plasterboard walls. Two walls have been skimmed ( well over 4 weeks ago) and the two walls around the bath/shower are just plasterboard. As far as I am aware I think I am ok for the weight restrictions on the skimmed walls so what I would like to know is what adhesive should I use, what size bed and should I prime the walls first. Thanks.

i would use a (white) flexible adhesive and an 8mm trowel if the walls are in good condition

A bagged cement based adhesive for a larger tile like you have. You will need to prime the skimmed walls, but not the plasterboard

Am I right in thinking that the primer must be acrylic based and which bagged adhesive would you recommend.

You could try mapei P9 which is powder adhesive and has a good pot life about 8 hours.Use sbr primer o the skimmed walls if they are really smooth and shiny then give them a quick rub over with a stiff brush or a bit of sandpaper.A 6 or 8mm trowel should be ok.

As Rad says, Adesilex P9 would be a good adhesive. You could also use Keraquick or Kerflex Maxi.

If you use Mapei adhesive, I would use the Mapei Primer G.

as above except i would not recommend mapei keraquick as it will only last for 30 mins in the bucket so you have to be quick.

Just been looking at the technical specs for Mapei P9 - does anyone know why it can only be used for tiles up to 300mm x 300mm on underfloor heating and tile on tile applications?

Wouldn't have thought the size of tile would matter for UFH, as long as adhesive was flexi
