Advice needed

still got 10 x more posts than you on forum Ash and probs 50 x more experience, so obviously us that have been here for years will recommend a long and trusted member..even though he may not chip in much anymore,
I really think you are being a bit harsh there with your comments, as I see it he is only trying to help the man out, also because a person has thousands of posts on this forum, does it make that person a better tiler? Not in my opinion, just think you are unfair with that comment

i just dont understand why its being made to come across as if i am slagging neale off, ive worked with him hes a brilliant tiler, but he hasnt posted on here for ages has he? and this guys left in the lurch when he obv needs help to get that mess sorted out.

Just because Neale isn't contributing to the forum right now doesn't mean we can't signpost the op to Neale. As you said yourself Ash, Neale is a brilliant tiler and members on here recognise that. I don't understand why you have an issue with the fact that Neale isn't around.

i dont have an issue with neale not being here anymore, im saying that i would of already been over and quoted the job by now and neale probably doesnt even know that the jobs on here????? as i said in previous post i dont understand why it is the issue with neale not being on here anymore? was just offering a helping hand to the o.p

You're in business Ash, so you approach the op if you want to quote for the job. From what I read in this thread, the op probably needs someone to go and assess the damage and write a report. Neale is best placed with experience and expertise for that. It doesn't mean Neale will go on to do the rip out and retile. Nobody is stopping you from getting involved with this situation but surely you know your experience limitations being a new tiler with a new business.

No offense Ash, but this is what the op needs.

Maybe the customer does need a experienced tiler to check the job out , but its surely not rocket science to look at a job and see someone has made a mess, our cat could do that, the main thing here is if imreading this right is that the customer is wanting a good job made by someone local after getting a report done to try and get something back off the cowboys

Exactly, and surely a report from an experienced tiler would stand up better if the op needs/wants to take this further.

Yes agreed , but it was the way in which them comments were made about ash that I was not keen on, and who is to say he is not capable apart from a few on here that seem to give him a hard time, and you dont need any experience to be able to tell a good job from a bad one, I also dont think he was treading on anyones toes
