thing is though, big supermarkets and other producers will always try to make sure that prices don't go too high. there will always be "deals" on alcohol. people might just have to be flexible on what they buy. a lot of the wine that I buy is usually produced for the supermarket anyway. I don't tend to buy much branded wine.

and a bottle of gin will last me at least 3-4 months  I just remember the good old days of drinking diamond white cider and being drunk on one can

what an interesting waste of tax payers money :ban: I doubt that putting prices up will curb binge drinking. if anything, it will probably just fuel crimes like muggings and burglary, so that those who are addicted can get hold of the cash to pay for the booze.

Just watching this on the news this morning.

The goverment haven't actually said they are going to but it is this group called NICE(The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence ) that are trying to get the prices increased and are putting forward their opinions/findings etc to the goverment.

About NICE
