I am of the impression that certain mambers of the public have no idea what is involved in doing a good tiling job. Your price you quoted seemed absolutely fine to me. if the customer feels they can get a job they are satisfied with then that is their perogative. Don't waste time worrying about it, move on to the next estimate. Stick to your policy of pricing, charge what you think you are worth. if you never get any jobs then maybe something is wrong, but at your cost given above, i don't think so.This pricing game is an odd one. In fact I posted last week with what I had quoted for a 11m kitchen floor and a 3m bathroom floor. 396 inc materials. Not one person thought I had overpriced yet from the reaction of the customer they obviously thought I had and didn't get the job.
Has anybody used the line that you will try and beat a more competitive quote if you can or is it not a done thing ?
