I use mine for every porcelain & stone job. Just received my half bullnose wheel for my Dewalt (along with a load of other bits!) for a load of trav skirting & window sills I'm doing next week. Looking forward to using it. Thanks as always to @ATSDiamondTools :)

Let us know how that dewalt wheel performs please Geoff, I've put off getting one for ages as I was a little unsure how good it would be. I know @GaryTheTiler has trialled it but, I can't remember if he said it was good or not! :)

I have one Bri. I used it a fair bit and found it to be ok. Easier and quicker than using a handheld. Now it's sat gathering dust. Sold the dewalt, sold my dc250 which i also used it on. Now I have a DX350 and it won't really fit this machine.

If you're using those dry polishing pads on Travertine Geoff, bed them in on something dense first like a granite off cut.

Trav is pretty soft and more suited to Silicon Carbide discs than dry diamond pads.

The diamonds will work and last ages, but you'll need to "dress" them first otherwise all you'll end up with is brown smears on the trav which is resin transfer from the pad on first use.

Bri these wheels are good if you have a lot of skirting tiles to profile, but it's only worth the set up on the Dewalt if you are running quite a few through in one go. Plus it's limited to profiling a straight line only.

For tiling that's probably the most common job so it's ideal.

If you do a lot of stonework which involves shapes and curves or profiling in situ then one of the M14 profilers that fits a hand held polishing machine would probably prove to be a lot more versatile. As a result we sell a lot of these M14 profilers to landscapers.

When it comes to polishing, Silicon Carbide discs are the way to go for the average tiler, again because they are so versatile as they will work on a large variety of products.

The advantage of diamonds really kicks in when it comes to volume and economy.

Hey Paul, how did u have the profile wheel set up on the DC250?

Hi Marc, I guess the easiest way to describe it would be I made a bed above the bed. It was a prototype one, I was going to get one made up out of ally if it worked complete with drainage etc. The one I had I made out of ply and framing timber. It worked but one made from ally would have been better. I have been clearing out the garage today and only threw it out today as well. Sods law.

Oh and you need spacers on the shroud as well or the wheel catches when running. It's worth the faff. Even with my wooden set up the results were great.

Cheers Paul appreciate it. :)
I did have trouble fitting the wheel to be fair.
Had to replace the cup securing the blade to machine cos it was too thick.
Just used large flat washer. Seemed to work.
Thanks mate.

To pre empt a few questions, along the lines of "can you make these wheels at 180,200 or 250mm" the answer is yes we can. But the chances are they would destroy the motor/axle of the machine to which they were attached.

We make these at 150mm for a reason. On a DW24000 that's the limit of adjustment to make them work.

These are not lightweight blades, they are quite a thick (substantial) profiling wheel which if we made at larger diameter would act as a flywheel and vibrate the machine to bits, they need to be this substantial to cope with the forces they are required to operate within which is not a cutting force but lateral stress.

If you have a large or volumous profiling job to complete, then ask what we can make or what we stock to make life easier. Something often exists already.
