Anyone else working strong hours?

I have to start putting more hours in this and next week to keep up. I dont like to though as i feel i shouldnt have to. The clients I am working for have left it until the last minute to get the tiling done and I am suppossed to wave a magic wand. I would like this weekend to catch up but I have my kids and they come 1st.

Sometimes Joe the long hours have to be done, the job I did in early summer was 10 day turnaround, I did 165 hours without a day off, 2 of those were shortish (9 hour) days.... needless to say that some tempers got frayed towards the end of the job

I was talking to two painters on site monday and they told me they were on 7 day weeks since last month.
They say they have to take it all when it's there because come january there will be so little.

Good complaint to be busy cos no doubt january will be quiet.
i would love to be able to do longer hours but 3 kids under 4 and the mrs working 30 hrs PW is hard going.
hope kids are better joe.

long hours here to hillhead, hope your lads are ok, have to rest soon as i have a saw shoulder, sharp pain in the joint on certain movement,, annoying.

Hi Joe, I'm in the same boat you are...I've never been busier in 20+ years of contracting...I hope I have some money after all this is over and I add it all up!:lol:

I only work 6 days a week,not that i'm overly religious really but a local shop rang me today to see if i would go to near Belfast tomorrow to help tile a Mac Donalds !! other things planned i said.
Massive weeks ahead of me now to christmas so smooth going without problems is what i need !
We all look as though we are entering the festive period with plenty on, long may it continue for us all.

You have to ensure a good work / life balance Joe otherwise it will come back and bite you.

Saying that, I did 45sqm of 400 x variable length x 20mm limestone (4 types with and without fossils), fitted the decoupler initial sealer and grouted this week (no labourer either :sad. I'm knackered tonight but at least I have tomorrow off.
