Arms
I know tiling is supposed to be sore on the knees, funny enough I never had a bother

But recently my arms have been really sore, it started with me noticing I had restricted movement in my shoulders, If I needed to scratch my back, I have to put one arm over my shoulder, and then push my elbow with my other hand to reach where I could reach unaided before.
Then my elbows started to get sore, and I noticed my grip was weaker.
It got unbearable one Sunday when I could hardly lift the milk out of the fridge and I had to give in and go to the doctor. He diagnosed tennis elbow and sent me to physio
I now have my elbow strapped up (really restrictive) and I have an exercise plan that I have to do every evening for the next 12 weeks.:yikes:

It has been put down to the repetitive nature of my work.

Anybody else have any arm problems???

Finger problems but I think thats hereditary - I find that my wife is the best back scratcher about

Ouch! A weird debilitating pain. The anti-inflammatory herb "Devil's Claw" can really help with that, google it and if you think it's right you should be able to find it your local health store. The exercises will turn into a good habit. And don't forget ice packs. Sounds like you had a good doctor there.

Wife swapping on the forum now? lol.
Not nice that Andrew, Gisela knows her stuff so check out her advice

Thank you, Joe 🙂 Got a lot of old patients asking me to forget about mosaics and to start my practice again. Don't want to though... but it will never go away completely either.

My elbow blew up like a balloon and down to my wrist and got infected and was on mega tablets, better now but I am a terrible leaner on the elbows or was.....

Had tennis elbowin both arms......not pleasant. Got mine from plastering. Also had rotator cuff issue in left shoulder and arthritic decompression in my right shoulder which was good fun. Now got similar symptoms in my left shoulder so will probably have to have that operated on shortly. Also got issue with my thoracic spine which doesnt move properly. Not much fun which is why for the last 16 years i no longer get on my hands and knees to lay screed except for small jobs at home.

I can talk ailments for ages.

Also got ulcerative collitis, bursitis in both knees, my fingers hurt and i got a cold coming on.....

Ajax,
you're falling to bits mate lol
I think the dr mentioned rotator cuff in my shoulder, Did you need an operation to cure this?
and did physio clear up the tennis elbow, and how long did it take?
Andrew

I tore my right rotator cuff... Was agony and was a 6 month mend 🙁 saying that I didn't get it from working I was pretty much horizontal rock climbing a cave lol.

As Ajax, I got mine from plastering it took months coupled with cortizone injections to settle down. Touch wood, it's been okay or a few years now, but was extremely painful at the time.

a tiler friend of mine had murry's elbow, he had cortizone injections work wonders for him...

my left knees playing up again, had all the bursa sacs removed 2 yrs ago......:mad2: i really can't see me doing this job much longer...

oh, and i'll send me wife over to scratch your back..... 2_2.jpg

Yeh, but you can sing!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I used to suffer from tennis elbow and a friend recommended chondroitin-glucosamin capsules. Five years on and I have no more trouble with it.

I guess I have been lucky so far, I have a few of the afore mentioned ailments, but my Julie makes me feel 21 again on a Saturday night, she lets me beat her.

At table tennis, my elbows are the only things that are still OK, that could be the kiss of death.

You two play table tennis? :hurray: When I visit you we'll have to have a game, love it!

My knees have been fine but my right elbow gets sore (Im right handed).
Used to have problems with my wrists and straining the muscles in my lower arms due to the heavy tiles especially 600 x 600s, but I think the muscles have just got used to it now. Im sure Ive now got muscles where I shouldnt have lol.
