This type of prorcelain is a really poor one imported from china. My brother in law owns a tile outlet and knows the guy that sources them for b&q. give it a couple of months then go back and see them. they walk up terrinble. I cant understand why anyone that was serious about a type of tile like porcelain would shop at b&q:mad2:

A slight variance on the trend. I am faced with a choose, cheaper b&q polished porcelain 60 x 60 cream tiles or a more expensive alternative. What quality difference and how do I tell?

Thanks

i've laid these tiles several times, and not had any problems with them, the cream ones are a bit easily marked, but as long as they are sealed prior to installation, they aren't bad

Have B&Q stooped using the transit wax on there polished porcelain

Bought the grey granite look porcelain 60x60 tiles @ B&Q last week for the ridiculous price of £5.30 for 3 but ever since my head is spinning from all the conflicting views on quality and installation
B&Q have large notices saying the tiles are waxed, the instructions inside say the tiles "may" be waxed & someone on here says it comes off with the paper in between the tiles but there isn`t any.
We tried using a wallpaper steamer on one tile & that didn`t get anything off. The surface does not seem to be waxy at all so I don`t want to spend a fortune on nanoscrub if it is not necessary.
I`ve had beetroot, red wine & oil puddles on the tile which don`t seem to
be staining the tile & there are no water marks from yesterday`s steamer experiment.

do you have any of these grey tiles spare as i am on the hunt for 3 of these grey porcelain tiles and they sound the same

im in the same situation, surely b&q would not keep selling these if there are so many problems, has anyone layed the newer 500 x 500 black porcelain tiles. any thing to watch out for now

these will probably need sealing, especially if they're polished, but make sure you remove the transit wax first

That's what I have been reading. It looks as if people are buying them from b and q and just laying them without spending the time sealing them. I have seen mixed reveiws as to seal them before you lay them as they say you have to seal the edges? What whould you guys recommend. Laying them then removing the transit wax then sealing would be a lot easyer
