guys, i would like to know how you go about your typical bathroom renovations

this is the way i do it.
most bathrooms are studed walls here.

so. firstly i take out all the bathroom ware, i.e toilets, sink, bath, rad.
then i take the old tiles off the walls and the old plaster board.

then i put up new 12.5 mm WBP. but on the out side wall
the paster board was originaly is dabbed on, so i put up some 2x2 and fix to the wall using 6mm hammer in fixings. then insulate and put up the ply.

tank around the bath and shower.

then tile the full bathroom and put back in all the ware.

so i have probably missed a few things but feel free to shout.

allan

most tile shops sell it m8! hardie-backer is like plasterboard but able to carry more wieght so it is good in natural stone jobs and aqaupanel is a similar waterproof version:thumbsup:

thanks david, but in ireland they dont sell it here in most builder providers and tile shops, forget about it! you would be very lucky to get a tile cutter in 80% of the tile shops they dont have them.

Yup I use Aquapanel all the time and I get mine from good ole Wickes, Dont forget the Aquapanel screws also.

No No No to ply on walls in wet areas.
