Hi folks can anyone tell me if you need to use battens with the BAL adhesives like ctf3 and whitestar etc . It says that they are non slip but how non slip do they mean? Other guys on here say Palace supergrip or Mapei but I can't get Palace where I am and to be honest I'd rather use BAL.....any advice greatly appreciated.....Scott

I'd use them if you work fast. Infact even if you work slow on a big job its often quicker anyway. No its not, 'none slip' in that sense of the word, not quite.

Don't think I'd work without battens especially when I'm tiling several walls, say a bathroom. reassuring to know the tiles will match up

Who has any faith in 'none Slip' products. Not worth the risk if your going round a room. battens only take a min or two.

****, reminds me i have got no timbers in the van and doing a job tomorrow. Thats me getting up half an hour earlier to go and get some 🙁

Nah!! your lass wont mine the odd skirta missing for a few hours.

while I was on my 2 week training course they showed us how to use our 1800mm level as the battern if we didn't have any or run out of timber, by the time you have done a couple of square meters, the addey would be strong enough for you to move your level along for the next part.
