Batton Stands

[2020Tiling]

Just wondering what you guys use as a level guide and if I should invest in some Batton Stands ? seem to spend a lot of time on bits of wood and wedges to prop the tile until it sets. Trying to find ways to be a quicker Tiler. Any ideas or tips ??:smilewinkgrin:

I have the Rubi stands. They're a fiddle sometimes, and the clamp is not the best design but make life so much easier.
Cheap enough so grab a set and see how you get on. I got myself a 1m and 2m length of box steel from wickes to use with them.

I have batten stands but found that they made things more difficult setting them level and upright etc plus they're easy to knock so I'm back to old methods....ping a laser around the room and screw in battens

I got the rubi stands too and use the straight edge for levelling

I prefer to cut in the bottom row first, I find it much quicker and less hassle than putting battens round

I Stick the laser up and always cut the bottom row in first to this. Go to be easier.

Think I'm gonna have a go without the battens and use my laser instead. I like this forum!

I don' do a lot of general tiling ,but when i do i cut the bottom row-in then work from there now, after messing about for years with bit's of wood (they are never straight anyway ) and metal straight edges.....
some one should do a masterclass in photos , then we could make the thread sticky ......

I would say that once you are fast at being able to get that first row cut in and level.... the jobs would go so much quicker than using stands or fixing battons wouldn't it.

My rubi batten stands are lying in the garage used twice , to fiddly and you end up wasting to much time with them, plus I find they take up to much room and get in the way when troweling the wall!

Batton stands. Yes I have them and once in a while prove useful......not often enough though. .......I really need to collect all these tools in the shed and garage and show what rubbish I have bought over the years.

I have the Rubi stands and they are flipin nuisance. I use a laser and an old spirit level on the stands, but adjusting the levels is a bit fiddly.

I use a couple Raimondi stands, best I've used Kwik Split Measuring Guides, Set Squares & Levelling Device

Try a dewalt self level vertical and horizontal line adjustable slider on height adjustable pole, brilliant bit of kit and saves lots of time not having to draw lines, I saw an electrician using one to set out his back boxes on the ground floor walls, I had to buy one!

I forgot to say that you can set the whole room out on your base tile then just work your way up
