best tiles

Hi all,

I currently have completed my kitchen extension and fitted the kitchen, i'm looking for a floor tiles now but have not got a clue what to look for. the room is 5m x 3m with a tile area of 11sq meters. The units are a light oak same as in the link

the worktops are the same colour as in the picture too. But whats the best tiles and at the same time around £20-£25 a sq meter?? we also have 4 dogs and the area would get some use. Also would you have dark or light floor tiles???

so many questions wish I had the answers

Id go with a middle shade. If you have a door straight outside the dark or light tiles, especially polished show dirt and water marks alot. For me light brown textured tiles 450 x 450 or so.

these loads of light as theres a 1200 window and french doors + back door

Light oak would definetly suit a dark tile,but mark would be a problem,slate looks great with oak too.you've no prob around that price bracket,ask for a discount and you'll prob get it.

do you think it would make the room look small having a dark tile to a lighter tile?

I never realised you had UFH, id prefer porcelain tiles then,i done a big one lately with porcelain,lovely heat build up now.Dark would suit units but for a easy maintained floor the go for a medium colour ie.cream.still looks damn good with oak

If you ask me the best colour for tiles is:

"Stone" or "Natural"

Go for any colour that replicates natures tones. Stone effect porcelain colours

Natural tones are very popular and neutral.

hi go down to your nearest tile supplier take home some samples sit them in area to be tiled walk past them for a week you will work it out dark tiles tend to close a room in lighter seem to make it bigger bear in mind grout color you dont want it to light and full gloss tiles show everything as far as dirt. and tend to be slippery if wet cheers:8:
