Due to the bad weather there is a shortage of salt up here,so when the grit bins were filled today i helped myself to a few bucket loads and went around the older neighbours that i have and scattered some salt.I also did my own path and my mrs is going bananas as the kids are getting the kitchen covered and its turning white creating a mess...ow well such is life. The roads around the house have also not been gritted and are a nightmare and its to get worse before it gets better.Hows the roads where you are?

Seen gritters but I too noticed there wasn't much coming out, normally it's bouncing off the cars passing the other way but this time it wasn't even spreading fully over the one lane as I was sort of following it (a car or two behind like).

It's stopped here in stoke where I am but we're apparently expecting more.

This is meant to go on for another week or more for most of the UK so I don't know how we'll cope next week.

Isn't it crazy to think that we can't handle snow here at all! Though countries that have snow most of the year seem to just carry on with life just fine and dandy.

And you'd have thought there is plenty of grit about this year given the fact they ran out last year! Clever clogs for a government!

I've been snowed in today so this afternoon I took a spade and cleared the drive and a large section of road infront of mine and my neighbours drives, its on a bit of a hill so you can get a run up now. I've left one of the cars down at the entrance to the estate just off a main road which is ploughed and gritted becuase its a bus route so one car should be ok tomorrow. Hopefully both.
