Bad round here mate, my brother managed (no questions asked!) to get his tipper truck filled with grit on tuesday so that we could salt the hill leading up to church on Wednesday:smilewinkgrin:

Haven't seen any gritters my way..............main roads are ok, the side roads are lethal

i noticed this too i was behind a gritter with his lights flashing like he was working but there was no grit being spread at all, idiot councils saving money at the cost of lives

some of these icicles were probably about 10 feet in length, average about 8 feet, I tried putting Mrs Doug in the photo to get a sense of perspective, but as you can't really see how wide the river is, probably 20 feet here, it hasn't really worked

Scarborough is being very good and using beach sand, too... roads were clear yesterday, not the side roads though, but today it just keeps on snowing and snowing...

I've never been to England so put this in perspective for me....is this a lot more snow and cold weather than is normal? How long has it been since the whole country was snowed in like this?
