Brickbond

Would lash clips help this kind of problem? It should be relatively easy to remove 1mm of bow over 600mm.

(Lash clips didn't exist when I was tiling BTW so never used them).

3/4 brick bond should solve the issue as the bowing can be a nightmare in long tiles and generally not much can be done to rectify without the floor going weird some place else from what I've gathered from the tradespeople I've spoken to about similar issues.

Yes can do Alan, but not always.
Like anything else, suck it and see!

Changing the bond half way through won't make the op any more popular!

Thanks all, turns out in very small print on the shagged out boxes there was a message saying "Not to be laid in 50% brick effect" or a small symbol to that effect. RTFB! Anyway managed to do a pretty good job all the same and customer very happy. Thanks for the advice chaps 🙂

As a rule we go by this when selling, something we got sent a good few years ago.

Planometric Tolerences

With the increasing popularity of large format wall and floor tile we wish to remind you that the tolerances allow for a 0.5% warpage in tile planarity. therefore the european norms allow on a 60x60 tile 3.5mm tolerance between the centre of the tile and its corners.
This causes no problem whatsoever when the tiles are fixed in the normal draughtboard patern, however, it can create problems if the tile is fixed brick bond or half bond particularly in the case of rectified tiles when the joint width is reduced to 1.5mm. It is advisable in this instance to ask your client to check for acceptability BEFORE fixing or alternatively to consider bonding 1/3 - 2/3 which will have the effect of halving discrepancies in planarity.
