Have just bought some BCT wall and floor tiles for our new bathroom floor, well shower room really, approx 4 sqm.
Our tiler has told us that BCT wall & floor tiles aren't up to the job of being used on the floor and will crack.
Anyone have experience of opinion on this?

Tiles are "BCT50650" Luna

Take the tiles back to the shop and get some suitable floor tiles, don't let him fob you off saying they are fine. Word needs to get back to BCT we have had enough of their rubbish.

Had this about 5 years ago. Customer bought the tiles and wanted me to lay them on the floor. I refused despite it suggesting it was OK. Customer went back to B&Q about five times and each time was told they’re fine. I just said it was an error on the box and there’s no way I can fit them.

I agree about it getting back to BCT. It’s a disgrace and completely embarrassing for the British Manufacturing Industry.

What does it say on the box ‘Proudly made in Britain’ Or something. Pah. Nothing to be proud about. Rant over :tearsofjoy:

Thanks for all the replies.
So is it BCT tiles that are no good for floors? Or do I need to lookout for other signs that "floor" tiles are not upto the job?

Bought online unfortunately, so not be able to take them back.

You should be looking for porcelain tiles for the floor and not ceramic that are only internal use. As previously stated these are indeed a wall tile biscuit and too soft for flooring use. They will crack, chip, and stain .
