once got asked to tile a fire place surround lady said she couldn't get any boddy to come and look at it. as it happens was doing a job in the next street and went to have a look. I ended up doing the fire place kitchen floor and 3 bathrooms for her over 3 yrs. she has since moved an am doing work on her new place.

My brother in law is an electrician and when he moved to the coast a little old lady asked if he would do a job for her - so he went and did it and when he finished she said ''hang on, I'll pop indoors and get you something'' he assumed she was going to get her purse.

She returned with two jars of home made jam as payment - and she asked for the jars back! he didn't have the heart to upset her asking for mere money.

True story.
