Chalk Line?

I find it hard to use a chalk line when, like me I have no friends to hold the other end. 🙁 Even using a stack off tile, brick or a hobo (homeless person not an instrument 😉) on the other end I can never get it spot on.

When i'm working on my own i get the customer, if there, to hold the line. If i don't like them i get them to wrap it round their finger and pull it really hard 😉

I can just picture an 80 year old customer with inch thick classes helping with that one..lol

Some of the jobs I've seen over the years I think some blokes must tie it to the cats tail

Why not simply hammer a masonry nail into the floor and use that?

I'm doing a floor now on my own and I struck all these lines myself using a nail at one end, what's hard about it 😵
