Mark I use to think the same, no way I'd pay big doh for a chalk line, but after throwing I don't know how many in the skip and wasting God knows how long re striking lines my frustration made me ask the question on this forum and I'm glad I did. If you get one and use it for a day or two I promise you won't regret it, a fantastic piece of kit and their chalk dosent wear or brush off. Top notch in my opinion and well worth it!Mine are a fast rewind😛

Use a masonry nailI use the chalk line fairly regular, when the level isn't long enough. Can be a pain tho on a concrete floor, getting a point at one end to hook to.
