Doing a kitchen and customer might want me to bathroom floor at some point.
Problem is the floor is a really crap patchwork of chipboard (as is the landing - looks like its been patched up with any type of scrap wood - rather than proper floorboards).
Obviouslly you can't tile on this but how would you deal with the chipboard bathroom floor to prepare for tiling?

Can you screw marine ply over it? or do you need rip up the chipboard floor?
I think they are having a bathroom fitted shortly in its present state!
Would it be a good idea to advise them to get the floor sorted out before plumbing in the bath/sink - if the floor IS to be tiled later on?

make sure the chipboard is well fixed in its present state..over ply with 12mm ply..and it should be strong enough.......dave....

If they are having new bathroom and some floor will need to be lifted for this then could be worth advising them to replace whole floor with 18mm ply rather than putting the patchwork back down
