please help, I have just had a week ago some charcoal porcelain stoneware tiles put on my kitchen floor, they are riven. The tiler used flexible grout and told us to leave them for 2/3 days before cleaning them (which i have since been told you are not supposed to do). Now after several mopping and scrubbing sessions i am still left with grout haze all over which is very upsetting to see when you have paid a lot of money out for them. the tiles have not been sealed.

Try buffing them with a dry cloth, may take a bit of elbow grease, if not you may have to look to a chemical solution.

Do you know if the tiles have a protective wax on them? If they have you will need to strip the wax with Aqua mix nano scrub, and seal tiles with Aqua mix Ultra-solv.

hi as enduro said above there are lots of producfs on market. the wax coating mentioned is normaly removed prior to grouting best bet is to call back your tiler and get him to fix before you pay because if you touch them he can walk away and say you did it let us know how it goes:mad2:

We leave wax on and clean it off after grouting to protect tile from grout haze and staining.

thanks enduro we were always told to remove before to stop it being wiped in grout joints but ill take your advise on board :8:

Hi I find grout haze to be a nightmare to remove. If useing aquamix products you may need as its flexable grout seal and adheasive remover first to break down the grout. Any one got a good g/h remover?
Steve

The transit wax mentioned is only on polished stuff normally..

The problem you have here is a Riven finished procelain tile....these tiles have loads of pores in the texture than grab grout/dirt etc...These tiles should have been sealed with a porcelain impregnator first...to seal those pores to prevent grout holding in there...

It is going to hard work to get them clean...

Lithofin have brought out a new product especially for tiles that have stubborn staining etc from dirt to pencil marks and also great for removing transport coatings..

The product is called Abra-clean...it is has nano particles to assist in removing staining...

Anyway , this is why you are finding it hard to get them clean and the grout is held in these pores and deffo should have been sealed first.

thank you very much for your reply. i have the man back who did the tiling and he brough a liquid general purpose cleaner, told us to paint it on scrub it off with a brush and then dry with a cloth. several tries later - no good. he now wants to try a brick cleaner but i have heard that it can damage the tiles? anyway found a company that deals with tile cleaning and restoration work and they said they can do it for me if i cant do them myself. but first to try a specialist grout haze remover. wot do you think. i value you opinion. a very fed up sam:mad2:

thanks for your message. called tiler back and said it wouldnt have been a problem if i had chosen black grout as it wouldnt have shown up on the tiles!!! cheek of it. anyway he brought a liquid general cleaner and told us to brush it onto the tiles, agitate with a brush and wipe down. a couple of hours later and nothing, back to haze. now he suggests a brick cleaner but i have heard that these can do your tiles some damage. looks like paying a specialist tile restoring company to get the right.
thanks again anway
