My Mrs is the contracts administrator for <removed> (they're pretty big and nationwide, owning other <removed> businesses too) and she's had umpteen calls today related to contracts they have with this firm. I think they will go bust now as they wont get any more credit on anything, and employee's will start getting worried about their pay and will start (quite rightly) kicking up a fuss which will deter clients.

Didn't know they employ 10k though!!!

I heard that Phil Rogerson's (plumbing and heating) have gone under too, okay they only employ about 100 plumbers, but it's a helluva lot for round here. They did most of the big site work in this area so will doubtless be down to the lack of sites these days.

I still think we're yet to see the effects of the banking lark that contributed to the recession, that apparently we're out of, but I'm yet to see improvements with any other sector other than the banking which seems to be doing well again.

Seems very corrupt to me. Somebody's doing something dodgy somewhere.

if they do go bust chances are most of the work force would get jobs with whichever company takes over the contracts with the local authorities. my brother in law works for them and says they're having a big meeting tomorrow which should determine if they are going under.

Agree absolutely...not just here..... worldwide... no wonder conspiracy theories are rife, as in keeping the normal people poor (relatively..) or only being allowed to succeed for so long...
