Come and see us at the 'tile and stone show' in june and we'll see what we can do. I'll be demonstrating the new 2.5mm CT but if you're no good at putting your tiles on straight it will show how crap you are, hehe.

Best regards
Andy
How rude, better not use it then...stick to my way of doing it..

Hi Andy, i had cleaned up the surface of the tiles prior to it with WD40 on a cloth so maybe that had something to do with it?? I`m probably doing something wrong anyway so if you ever end up doing a demo in Maidstone area and i`m about i`d like to see it

Cheers

I was shown this at my training school, what you do is when you have finished grouting and washed tiles off and you have a dusty haze on the the tiles get a cotton cloth and squirt a small bit of WD40 onto the cloth and wipe the tiles it remove the dust and it stick to the cloth and polished the tiles...Not to much WD40 though...Works a treat

I hope you are joking... ....because wd40 is an oil and should not be applied to tiles or grouts , which ever way you do it by cloth or not..........This will just attract more dirt than necessary.....

A lint cloth or paper towel.....not penetrating oils..ffs..........

I'm just beginning to wonder how many other guys use WD40 for cleaning down tiles, no wonder people are having problems with CT, and not just with CT, i'm sure that the Silicon adhesion will also be affected. I just can't believe what i'm hearing, and I hope people are joking.:mad2:

The only thing we ever recommend using is either a dry cloth or ethanol. Ethanol is the preferred method because it evaporates of the surface and its also antibacterial so it leaves the surface totally clean.

Best regards
Andy

Grout haze on the tiles will cause problems with adhesion and some high gloss tiles/surfaces can at times be difficult to adhere to especially if not dried properly.

Wd40 has been used for grout haze removal by some for years. Try grout haze remover or a bit of phosphoric acid depending on the acid sensitivity of the tile of course.

Hi guys,

Here's some more pic's, these are very impressive. I was wrong yesterday about the 1st pic being 4mm cornertape, it was 6mm CT and this pic is also 6mm.

The job was done by chris.tiling , a forum member.

Best regards
Andy

Hi Smudge,
Was good meeting you in Lincoln this week, and I was impressed with your demonstration, good product, it will make life much easier for loads of people....Gaz:thumbsup:

And to you too, funny that we have never met, but we both knew who we were, hehe, spooky.

Many thx for your comments, if people will just give CT a try just once (don't use WD40 though:mad2: ), that would be enough to convince them, such is life, hayho.

Best regards and i'm sure I'll see you around,

Some more pics of the results from using cornertape (sorry about the low res). These were not done by 'chris.tiling', but they show the 8mm CT.

Only the worktop was done not the vertical corners and the gap was huge which is why the 8mm was used, they put the knife in front of the joint for scale.

The tiles had been previously painted using proper tile paint.

The Silicon was cheap own brand from a 'shed', but the finish was spot on.

Comments please

Best regards
Andy
