Couple of quick questions

it looks like bonding undercoat with an old grey skim on top, you'll need to skim over the exposed bonding and then prime, tank and tile mate. Make sure that your skim has thoroughly dried out/cured before starting:thumbsup:

I'd go to a builders merchant and get a bag of multi finish, it only needs to cover the bonding, it'll cost about £5.00

Decided to get a trusted plasterer in who is coming tonight to skim the whole room and ceiling. Will it be ok if he skims the aqua board or shall I tell him to leave it, only reason is that a very small amount of the board will be on show once the enclosure has been fitted.

Thanks Doug will remember to use multi-finish once I start the bathroom in the next few weeks.

Cheers all

Everything is coming along nicely. Plasterer is going skim the whole bathroom, apart from the aqua board. I have also taped the seams, and once its skimmed going to put the shower tray in, and tank the whole area.
Out of interest, if the aqua panel was skimmed, would the addy fail? Just that a small area of the panel will be on display, and the stud was out slighly, and thought the plasterer could build the plaster us a little to get the wall nice and flat.

Cement boards can be quite absorbant, don't bother your'll be far better just tiling onto the aqua board

When its all up put some plasterboard joint filler on the bit you can still see when gone of rub down with 120 sandpaper ashoulod be good.
Lucius.
