Hi lads, I'm a welder by trade, but with not much work on the Tyne I was thinking of a career change, I thought a plumber or sparkies course would'nt be up to much as like a welder you need to be time served, and a weeks course just would'nt be up to much. I have looked at the N/E tiling site and it looks a good course. At 47 am to old to change trade? And is there a market for Tilers? Also is there good money to be had? It's just making that first move.

my brother is a plumber and reguralry states that the 3 skilss in demand are

plumbing
plastering
tiling

good money to be made mate, if work at it, it wont come overnight, takes time to gain a rep, i did my time years ago and left the tools, now going back to course to retrain as such as different techniques etc

nett course has great feedback and u r never to old to learn a new skill

if you look at it simply

you get a tiler in to do your toilet say 20m2 at 20 quid a metre plus materials it works out the same as doing the course at nett and you have gained a skill, take that you can also do your own house for no extra charge you have saved money

hope this helps
