Hello,

I had a company do ensuite and main. There is creaking across the ensuite flooring when walked on and the main is OK. The floor grout isn't cracked but there are some grout cracks on the walls bottom line where it meets the floor. I spoke to the company who said that's normal and why they use flexi-board. Is this normal. See video.

In a word no, not good is movement grout will crack soon
That's what I was thinking but was reassured it was normal. Could the problem be that it was grouted where wall and floor meet as well as on the outside of the shower tray. I have read tilers saying to Silicon it changes of direction due to movement?

Is movement in sub floor or elsewhere
Did they fix everything down prior to over boarding ?
Is not a grout problem that is a symptom ?
Did the floor creek before had bathroom done ?

No creaking with the previous floor and this has just started after 9 months. From the invoice I see a proboard sheet but no idea on install. It seems to be around the shower tray (see vid) but was still caused by walking elsewhere as it's a small floor with large tiles. They used Flexi grout on the floor and its starting to crack around the shower tray.

Is really hard to say , could be water damage underneath after 9 months , could be the pro boards were not fixed down well. I use cement boards are more rigid
All i can say from here is no it doesnt seem right to me

Is obviously not normal , even more un normal is after 9 months , so after 9 months it comes loose and thats normal
get back on to them

Hoping they can scrape out the grout and fit a screw down or inject something between.
Takes me 4-5 days longer than most fitters to complete a full rip out remodel from back to brick , dont ever need to go back inject anything in
Speak to your builder
If your not happy with outcome , can show how to send notice of intent regarding defective work or materials
If got a spare tile or two is easy , really needs to come up , obviously something going on underneath
