Chatting with my uncle earlier about customers and prices,he has tiled now for almost 45 years, tiled places like the imperial war museum and the Trafford center so knows his stuff. Basically discussed customers if they think a price is far to expensive, he reccomended to me that if a customer for instance says "no thats far to much" you should then say "ok if you supply the materials i can do it for such and such a price" (obviously cheaper but still day/metre rate of pay). I am not sure if this is a good/bad idea what do you think?
Not doubting my uncles advice atall but he has always worked for large companies so never really been a domestic man.
Thx
Mat

My price is my price, if you start to knock money off, they think you where trying to rip them off. Price a job on how busy you are, if quite price to get work, but when really busy price to make it worth doing.

Not knocking money off mate, would still be getting labour pay but wouldn't be adding material prices to cost.

Only problem I see with that is if they agree you could turn up to the job with B&Q's finest tile adhesive. Then your goosed.
If that was the case though i would turn around and tell them the cons of using the stuff and wouldn't guarantee my work to them.
