Cutting 10mm 60x60 polished porcelain floor tiles

Sorry to jump in guys but when fitting porcelain tiles 60x30 to plasterboard is it essential to fit a hardie backer board first? I am on the floor but walls? I will seal the grout after so is it a waste of my cash? Thanks,
Gusty.

Yes, shower to ceiling and walls 1/2 way up so 1.2mtrs up wall. I will seal the grout so I was not sure if I would be throwing cash away using a backer board. chipboard floor so Hardie backer boards going down. Thanks,
Gusty.

I’m having problems cutting some 10mm 60x60 polished porcelain floor tiles.

I cant get a nice smooth edge. It splinters the surface on the edge when I cut them.

I’ve been and bought a new saw blade and its made no difference.

Any advice??
Try turning the tile upside down to make your cut
