Cutting Hardi Backer

Cut outside with the grinder with the dust blowing away from you.
You don't have to cut right through the Hardie, a quick score with the grinder & snap it, a lot quicker than using the knife.

Seen Tilers using a grinder indoors.. :anguished:
 
I've cut tiles with the grinder indoor before, when there is a spare room to work in that's not decorated etc, also when customer wasn't in. I always use little ear plugs.
I use no more ply which is same as hardie, just score with knife and snap, or use hand saw for l shape cuts etc. I wear a 3m disposable mask.
