Hi everyone,
Just started my first job in a bathroom and removing the old tiles, trying to be as careful as i can but a few times part of the plasterboard has come away with the tile. It hasn't left any holes right through just craters. Can i just fill these in and tile over and if so how long will i have to leave the filler to dry for.

Thanks in advance.

for the time taken trying to be careful with the plasterboard, I'd be inclined to rip it all out and start with fresh, clean plasterboard:thumbsup:

Is it a stud wall or dot & dabbed board wall..?...

Stud wall will be just as easy to replace as doug has said and if it's a dabbed dry lined wall then maybe patching is easier..

I use one coat patch upplaster from wickes...dry's very quickly....prime when dry..

I'm no expert but wouldnt a bit of tiling adhesive into the "craters" and levelled off be ok ?

Yep...but depends how deep they are..as most bagged gear is only used to around 6mm deep...and you have to prime the craters as it's staright gypsum you will be putting the adhesive over.....

The patch up coat from wickes is gypsum based....

But yes adhesive can be used as well....Prime it..
