Dodgy tricks...

You wnt be getting any recommendations this way on charging that way my friend , maybe it works that way for you up there and thats wrll and good for you but dont try teaching your grandma how to suck eggs

So again, you have more experience so you know better than me??
Very much doubt it.
Sick of listening to idiots like you saying I've done it this way for 20 years & never had a problem..
Sleep tight.

Sometimes you have to agree to disagree and that is what I am doing with you as we will never get along so you do things your way and I hope it carries on for you

I will never agree with how you do it your way as its wrong but your to set in your ways to realise that oh mighty one..

I didn't want a slanging match but you force it I think you are a person that would fall out with your self in a empty house , now act yor age and not your shoe size

You never heard of experience counts, now look back at your posts

Oh experience counts Brian, I will agree with u on that but where experience doesn't count is when someone with 20yrs experience hasn't been shown right in the 1st place.
I listened to an idiot in CTD one morning buying 6mm ply, "it's only a small bathroom & I've always done it that way & never had a problem".

I came on this forum to try & learn all I can about a trade I love, I don't know every little thing about tiling & have never claimed I have but the one thing I do know how to do is measure up a job.

I think you would find I'm one of the easiest going guys you would meet Brian,
I go out my way to try & help people when I can,
I will argue the toss though when I know what I'm talking about.

Don't take it to heart stef, bit of banter , , you would only have been falling asleep after your Christmas dinner lol

I'm not taking it to heart trust me, when I take things to heart I get angry & want to start ripping people apart but it won't happen on this occasion, your too far away!!

Seriously Brian, you must at least know something about tiling after all these years.

And I thought Eubanks/Benn was an epic, can we just say that people do things differently, but end up with the same result. Stef, can't agree with you more, it's exactly the way I do it. Brian carry on doing it your way, it works for you.

Now fill my glass back up again

I used to price on metre. Not anymore.

I also measure and add 10% for cuts. (20% if diamond)

Regardless of price.......if the customer accepts your price, that's it! Weather it's £500 or £1000, they have accepted, regardless of wot others think.

How many times have you had jobs where the customer actually has the tiles already.
They measure themselves, on the back of a *** packet, the supplier works out that they need 20m.......so they sell them 20m.......and then your short, and have to wait until they get more.

I for one add the 10 or 20% for cuts/wastage........and that's wot I charge for.

Each to their own.

I have also always told customers to have a few "spares" just in case some numptie cracks a tile putting up that flashy bog roll holder years later.

It works for me.........and I keep busy. So I must be doing something right.

Happy Crimbo all you bums. 🙂

Wow, that escalated quickly. Lol.

Back to the Op, I don't work for other builders/contractors so cannot comment on that. I ain't even going to jump on the band wagon on this one...just putting in my 10%

Merry Christmas guys & gals!
