For £100, Screwfix and B&Q are selling a £200-180 Dewalt 18v combi at the moment. The girls brother has one and I was using it today, decent enough drill but he said battery life wasn't very good. Two batteries included though so for £100 I may well get one myself.

If you can find that same drill for sale at £200 (apart from some chancer on ebay) then I'll buy you one, Screwfix shouldn't be able to mislead people with this sort of advertising:thumbsdown:

Worth a £100? maybe, worth £200 never

hi mate,

I have a Milwaukee (which is expensive) and a Erbuer (not expesnive). I can honestly say that many Erbuer products are great value for money, I have an 18v drill, a router, a jigsaw and a reciprocating saw which are all Erbuar and perform very well. Best of all is that They come with a 2 year guarentee at Screwfix.

i would go for Makita 18Volts minimum (anything less you really feel the lack of torque), the people to keep an eye on are Screwfix. they have revolving special offer every few months, the Makita £99 18V drill kit always comes up. The other two same spec also on special offer are normally DeWalt and Bosch. If you have a trade account with Grahams you can get good specail offers on Bosch blue. The other people who sell DeWalt and Bosch blue and Makita on good special offer or generally good pricing are Toolstation (avoid their Silverline range - its crap). The reason i go Makita is my trades and I personally rate em, their drills are really good, look on the label and you will see they are all (or mostly - i have not seen otherwise) made in Japan or the UK. DeWalt is made all over the shop and Bosch can also be made anywhere now (they were always made in Germany or Switzerland) - i think Makita have kept their quality.
