Question:-

Our M14 Dry Drill bits (see original post on this thread) have been trickling out nicely and we've had good feedback, we seem to be sending a lot to Norway for some obscure reason.

However I've been thinking of introducing an adapter to sell alongside the bits that converts the M14 fitment to a straight 8mm shank so each bit can be used in a drill as well as a grinder.

Something like this:-

Likely cost is about £5.00 and it would fit every drill bit, so you'd only need one in principal if you were happy to unscrew it and fit it to each size as required.


Would this appeal to anyone?

Would you be more likely to buy a Dry bit if it was useable in grinders and drills?

I did consider an SDS to M14 fitting, but SDS is a patented design and we' have to pay a royalty to use it, plus it's not cheap to engineer.

Any other suggestions welcome.

The adaptor work well for me as there are times when this would suit to have the hole cutter in the drill whilst keeping the blade in the grinder and not having 2 grinders floating about.

The M14 to Hex adapters we've had produced arrived this week. These will convert all the dry M14 holesaws for use in a standard drill chuck (at high speed).

The cost for these is £12.00 (£10 + vat).

We'd like to offer all forum members who want to try these dry bits a free adapter when you buy two or more M14 dry drill bits of any size.
