Hi

We are having a new conservatory built and I need to tell the builders how much lower to make the concrete so that it is level with the adacent room.

Reading the forum and after speaking to UHeat I think the most popular method is:

Porcelain tiles
* Flexible title adhesive
* Self levelling compound
3.9mm cable mat
60mm insulation boards
* Flexible tile adhesive
Concrete floor

Does anyone have any estimates for the height of the 2 flexible adhesive layers and also how much SLC to use.

Thanks

Jeff

HI Jeff,

The SLC on needs to just cover the wire, say 5mm max.

Now i am not a tiler and will probably get shot or worse for saying this. If using the correct trowel (solid bed tipped trowel) 3mm notches with a 3mm tip at each end. This should give you a 4mm solid bed.
If i have got that bit wrong i am sure the guys will advise whats best.

Hope this helps

Thats a big tile so I would be using 12mm trowel or more which give you about 5mm to 6mm adhesive plus the tile say 15mm, remember go less on the screed it can be built up with slc. To high you struggle big time to bring it down
