Female Tilers / Lady Tilers

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Hi Dan, just a little thought, i didn't think there were that many of em out there, but i don't see any harm with giving them their own little area if they want it, mind you they might just use it to moan about us.. anyway why not?...Mike

i work with my husband, who's a plumber, excellent way to get work. oh, and i'm not intimidated by male chat, i quite often find myself on building sites!

We have had quite a few females train at our centre here over the past few months.....

It seems to be getting more popular with the ladies, as there seems to be a market for female tilers here in the midlands. Particulalrly with Gay/Lesbian communities, old people and single mothers etc.

They would prefer a female to do the work rather than some gorrila of a male tiler that is homophobic and looking for some extras after work lol

🙂

Maybe more female tilers would use this site if there was a female section to ease them onto it.
I'd be interested in others experiences.

Sadly, the main effect of this perfectly reasonable enquiry is to show that not all the tilers who contribute to this forum have much self-respect. I can't think of another reason why it feels like I'm reading a 1970's misogynists' (that's a woman hater, btw) chatroom! Grow up, guys.
A female oriented section could be very useful. It's got my vote.

Ta for that refreshing change.

On Dragons Den earlier this week I saw a lady 'handyperson' who stated her whole business model was based on aiming her handy services to single mums, older ladies and general women looking for a comfortable stress-free installations and what-not around the home. Also subbing out to other lady tradespeople I believe.

Perhaps the girls could also discuss tactics related to that sort of business model, which is something that would just get hammered with counter-productive opinions from the gents perhaps?

What luck the UK has. Within my german clients I have only:
1 female tiler with master grade, working active as a tiler,
1 female tiler with master grade, only dealing tiles,
1 female tiler working with her husband,
1 female tiler learning to tile.
I should change my business home base. Martin
