Welcome to the forum jjk, please say helo in the new members section. I'm sure youngoogy will give you a price for a wetroom. (send him a pm) For further advice though, check out Wet Decs, answers all your questions through a link on any of his posts! Good Luck

Hi JJK,
welcolme to the forum you will find all the help and advice on here you need to help with your project.
Thanks for your comments I am really pleased with the results, far better than a shower tray and screen etc so stick with it.
It was my first bash at a wet room and I could'nt have done it without the help on here. I am just a DIYer like yourself and unfortunately would not be able to take on your job but I am sure there will be someone on here who would but why not have a go yourself? Do your homework and its not that bad.
Make sure you buy good kit as you really do get what you pay for. Tanking membrane, tray former, adhesive, grout and underfloor heating all make a big difference if you fit decent stuff. I can let you know what I bought if you want or as suggested above give WetDec a shout he will be able to completely kit you out.
Good luck and if you have any questions come on here and ask I guarantee someone will know the answer.
Rich.

You legend thanks for all the info!

yes please all info you can provide would be much appreciated:hurray:,
so please let me know what kit you used including where you got glass screen from, and all other components used.( Like most people, I want to get quality, but not at extortionate prices!)

I will also readup and get intouch with WetDec!

Im at work (on night shift!) but when I get home il take some pictures of the area in bathroom I want to make a wet room.

(I also want to get a tiled seat involved too, and was thinking of making it out of brick and then tilling over? appoligies if I sound like a real novice)

hopefully if I can achieve half of what you have done, il be a happy man!.

Fantastic finish!

Doing a wet room, read alot from your forum, looks like the more I read the more I find that different people have different prefferences (BAL being a favourite).
I have a Marmox Showerstone Tray fitten with drain, the remaining floor done with 25mm marine ply.

My next move is to fit HOMELUX WATERPROOFING MATTING with BAL NATURAL STONE adhesive. Questions I have are:
1) Should I treat the marine ply with primer ?
2) How thick a bed of BAL Natural Stone should I put on (4mm screeded or should there be a bed also ?
3) When I reach the wall, I stop the matting, should I go 6 inches up the wall with Homelux Jointing Tape ----- or do I but up the wall 6 inches BEFORE I put the matting on the floor ?

Any help appreciated !

Thanks,

Graeme
