Hi
I am building an ensuit, tha old plaster is shot and I have removed it. I am giong to us plasterboard, dot and dab before I tile. Is there anything I should put on the bare bricks before I stick the plasterboard or will it bond better without using anything else.
Thanks John

Where your going to dab the adhesive give the walls a splash of water just to keep dust down on the bricks

Pva it mate it is meant to be used for these situations where plastering and drylining is concerned. And that is by the book. Hnd in building studies.

I have never pva'd a wall that I'm going to dry line, Plastering yes, dry lining never, If the wall's where that bad I would be using gypliner, a metal system for wall's in a naff condition for plastering.

I have found that you dont need to PVA the areas but it cant hurt doing it . PVA is only a few quid so if you want that little extra feeling of its going to stay put then it maybe worth it. But as I say you dont need to
