floor tiles running parallel?

Ok, thanks. The kitchen is only narrow, but there are no apparent angles and a quick tape measure confirms there's nothing more than a couple of mils, if anything. We've asked for the tiles to go through to the adjoining back passage area to the door, (first pic on left). This back area is also rectangular. He's coming back tomorrow to do the cuts and grouting. Mate , I cant see anything that is square in those pics. Totally unacceptable IMO...messy sod too, leaving that adhesive like that and not washing off properly.

Thanks for the extra pics, they show what a bad job he has really done. If I was you I'd be asking for him to come back, lift the tiles and re lay them properly. Sorry but it's a shocking job, he's a chancer not a tiler!

stevie wonder would have set out better than that! when were they laid? you may be able to pick them up easily and clean them if the adhesive hasn't set. abysmal work.

What ever happens don't hand over any money to this guy because I guarantee you will never see him again if you do! Show him the comments on here if he tries to argue his way out of it. It's frustrating that there are idiots out there taking jobs that could be completed by professional tilers :mad2:

ok, last pic. this one shows the back passage section which is very rectangular leading off from the kitchen to the back door. Just rang the bloke, told him I'm not happy and I'm gonna lift them now before the adhesive sets. Thanks for all the replies.

Good idea, make sure you keep all the pictures as proof of the bad work! And scrape off as much adhesive as you can from the tiles and floor. Good luck and let us know how you get on with it

Just guessing here but it seems that in just over about 1600mm he is about 100mm out of square ????

Talk about making life hard for yourself :mad2:
