Has anyone any experince in fixing these and the upstands. Been asked to quote but unsure on acouple of things. I presume I'll need a glass cutting disk for my wet cutter when I come to cutting the upstands. Any reccomendations on adhessive most welcome.

Cheers
Pete

You may think it is wrong dave, i dont. I rarely used tubbed gear for anythin now but at the time of fitting these i contacted bal to be sure and they re-assured me. Bal white star is probably the best tubbed gear out there and is more than capable of holding a piece of glass onto a plasterboard wall.

I don't doubt what you say you were told...but to get what you say correct here...you say BAL told you to use white star on a 600mm x 600mm type glass splash back..? or some where near that type of size...

How strange i called various manufacturers of adhesive a while back as i was asked to fix some 300x600 glass tiles and all said no to tubbed adhesive inc Bal !

Hi Pete,

The splashbacks from Topps are self adhesive, you peel of the paper backing and stick them on the wall, then put a thin bead of mirror adhesive around the edges. The splashbacks are not recommended for cutting. The 1000mm upstands however can be cut and instructions come in the packaging.

Rgds

I've fitted one of these. Toughened galss, cant be cut. Self adhesive under peel off backing. Wall must be absolutely flat or the adhesive will only touch the wall on the high spots. Seal edge with neutral cure Silicon, if I remember right.
