I have had 3 or 4 messages saying " you have a new reputation comment" or similar, when I click on it because its flashing a load of threads come up, how do you find what has been said?

Next to the reputation given there will be a box with a reply in a thread, click on the reply and it will take you to your post that has been given points. All the threads your seeing are threads that you have posted in that have had replies since your last post in them and that you have not posted back in.

it's when people nominate your post for TOTM, it never use to do it but now it gives you rep points as well as nominating your post I think,

scroll to the bottom of the page when you click the link and it will show dates and times and also if a comment was left

You can get reputation points from being thanked or hitting the reputation symbol as well.... and yes the totm gives reputaion..
