how about sillicone cleaners the times ive had to remove dirty sillicone not because it let water through just looked awful

I use Aqua mix Heavy duty Tile & grout cleaner...i have tried lithofin, Hg etc..but find HDTG works very well.

Do you mean Silicon cleaners? or Silicon removers/eaters?

The biggest problem with cleaning grout is the dirt and grime soaks into it over the years, so you have to let the cleaners do it's work..give it plenty of dwell time, up to 30 mins in some cases, and sometimes it needs two applications to clean the grout. Be patient!!

Hi Rob.

If your wanting to remove mold and general crud and muck from white tiles in showers[You would be suprised with the state of some folks showers - some are really smart / posh]. The product that leaves shower grout really clean and kills all the mold - removes the red and black etc but will not remove other stains and general dirt is

Dettol Mold and Mildew Remover - formally know as Dettox. This stuff is a powerful biocide - spay on an leave to act - 1 hr to 24 hrs (repeat if necessary) and rinse. Cleans the shower valves, Silicon joints and glass seals etc - This product is not in your usual armoury of tilers and bath / wet room installers. I use it when asked. It stinks mine you - open the windows wear latex gloves and if spaying in tight space googles. Do spray on your best work clothes or customers towels as strips the colour out.

I know it sounds far fetched, and yes its a 'household product' but it really works on moldy showers - try it and if your not 100%, send me the receipt and I'll send you the cash !

if you are going to resort to useing household products then theres not many better than bicarbonate of soda!!!

I use it to clean my flask, it nearly makes me baulk when I see all the stuff it brings off. I was drinking my coffee outta that!:yikes:
