I have had a slate patio put down and there is a grout/cement haze over it. I have tried scrubbing with water and a hard brush but to no avail. I ahve been recommended Aqua Mix phosphoric acid cleaner. Would this be right?

Aqua mix? posh name for water, that sounds like brick acid, it will work, make sure you dilute it first, try on a spare piece, open the windows for ventilation and wear gloves,

Aqua Mix is one of the best products on the market. Phosphoric acid is not brick acid. Ventilation is not necessarily required but you should wear gloves with all acid products as it is an irritant.

yes it is right. Aqua mix phosphoric acid isa concentratyed acid cleaner designed to remove light grout haze, mineral deposits, rust stains, mortar smears and minior efflorescence. it is also effective for the removal of hard water stains, lime deposits and soap scum.

Pre wet the surface with water mix the acid at a ratio of 5 parts water to one part acid to start you can always slowly increase the strength allow it to sit or dwell for a few minutes and agitate with a bristle brush or white emulsifying pad do not allow the solution to dry. then mop up the dirty solution or wet vac then rinse thoroughly and mop or vac again.

Aqua mix should be fine, just follow the instructions on the back to the letter, and like Terry said, do a test area first. 😉
